About
Us
Great Valley CAD (GVCAD) was founded in
2004 after fellow Officers of the Philadelphia AutoCAD Users
Group, Inc. (PAUG) repeatedly saw a distinct need for a
better solution in helping today’s CAD users become more
efficient and effective with their day-to-day Computer-Aided
Drafting and Design responsibilities. GVCAD prides itself
on being able to offer some of the greatest number of AutoCAD
solutions from one source in the Delaware Valley. Specializing
in AutoCAD Training, Customization, Standardization, Support,
as well as basic Drafting and specialized Design services,
GVCAD’s affiliation with PAUG and its core members allows
our company to provide one of the largest possible resources
of talent on the Main Line.
Timothy S. Kramer - Owner
Realizing early on in life that his true
loves included Art, drawing and working with his hands,
Mr. Kramer opted to attend the Howard High School of Technology
in 1980. Known at the time as the Howard Career Center,
the Vo-Tech school in Wilmington, DE paved the way for him
to pursue a career in Technical Drafting. Before graduating
with honors in 1984, Mr. Kramer represented Howard at the
Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) competitions
two years in a row. Recognizing Mr. Kramer’s true talents
the 1st year he participated, the VICA judges awarded him
First Place in the Technical Drafting category among the
State of Delaware’s finest drafting students of 1983. Additionally,
he was selected for Who’s Who Among Students in American
High Schools twice for academic achievements. After deciding
to continue his education at the next level, Mr. Kramer
enrolled in the Engineering Drafting program at Delaware
Technical & Community College Stanton campus in 1984
and graduated at the top of his class with Cum Laude honors
in 1986, receiving an Associates degree in Applied Science
(A.A.S.) in Engineering Drafting & Design. It was there
that he was also selected for Who’s Who Among Students in
Junior Colleges, as well as the Phi Theta Kappa Honour Society.
After graduation, Mr. Kramer went on to
work efficiently on the board and with computer-aided drafting
software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation in various engineering
fields such as Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, Environmental,
and Chemical industries. With over 18 years of “real-world”
experience as a Drafter, Designer, CAD Specialist and Manager,
as well as seven years of involvement with the Local User
Group (PAUG) as an Officer (Treasurer-Elect), active member
of the Steering Committee, appointed position of Education
Director, and writer/contributor of past newsletters, Mr.
Kramer embraces the opportunity to take on new challenges
and set new goals for himself.
Primarily self-taught, Mr. Kramer received
his Autodesk certification most recently while working for
an Autodesk Reseller in 2003. He has also received: GMP
Orientation, MS Access 97, GroupWise, and WebEx training
in 2002; Lotus Notes training in 2001; certification in
Smallworld’s Model.it and Circ.it fiber-optic connectivity
software in 2000; management training at Skillpath Seminars
in 1999; and certification in Solids Modeling and 3D applications
of AutoCAD, Release 14 by an Autodesk Training Center in
1998. Having taught AutoCAD at both the non-credit as well
as the rigorous, 3-credit collegiate levels, Mr. Kramer’s
passion and enthusiasm for AutoCAD is evident when teaching
others. With the added experience of creating and implementing
CAD Standards at the Global Engineering level, no CAD-related
task is too big for this AutoCAD enthusiast!
